Biography

Anita B. Smith is the proud owner and executive director of A’NI Seminars.  She motivates today’s women by sharing a concept that the most delightful woman is the harmoniously developed women, and that the most interesting woman is the one who is mentally, physically, and emotionally alive.  Her goal is not to change women, but to help them develop themselves so that they possess charm, poise, graciousness of manner, and that they reflect the simplicity, sense, and sincerity which will make them a true representation of a woman of virtue.

Gentlemen are motivated to acquire an attitude of being polite that will help them succeed throughout life; and, are given helpful tips on social and business etiquette in preparation for gracefully meeting personal and professional social challenges.

Anita’s clients receive the benefit of her past experiences as a professional model of the fashion industry, a modeling instructor for Barre’ Modeling School and Agency of Rockville, Maryland, Patricia Stevens Modeling School and Agency of Bethesda, Maryland, Fox Models of Reston, Virginia, a Fashion Board Consultant for the once named Wheaton Plaza of Wheaton, Maryland, and the coordinator for many fashion show productions.

In addition to her fashion experience, Anita has held several prestigious positions during her extensive career in local government at the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department.  She served as Chief of Staff, Executive Assistant, Special Assistant, and Special Projects Officer.  Her final position there before retiring was Information and Privacy Officer, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of the entire privacy program which governs the protection of medical health records.  Anita also worked closely with the Executive Office of the Mayor as Constituent Services Liaison addressing and resolving constituent concerns as they surfaced; and, has worked with the Mayor’s Office of Policy compiling agency work related statistics for inclusion in the District’s INDICES report.  Prior to local government service she worked in several capacities for the U.S. Department of Labor.

Anita is a member of numerous business boards and committees, both past and current.  To name a few: National Association of Female Executives, National Organization for Women, Mayor’s Transition Committee, Mayor’s Critical Issues Reporting System, Managers Accountability Committee, Emergency Medical Services Steering Committee, and the Job Classification Committee.

Ms. Smith holds a degree in Specialized Business Management from the Center for Degree Studies of Scranton, Pennsylvania, along with several diplomas for numerous managerial courses from other higher learning institutions, and several diplomas for modeling related courses.

Ms. Smith is a native of Washington, D.C. and resides in Clinton, Maryland.
